Jean Claire Hobart

Jean Claire Hobart,  71, died Saturday, October 4, 2003 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA.  Jean was born and educated in Malden and after completing school she married and raised her family. She was employed as a short order cook and waitress at Donut Villa in Everett for over twenty-five years. She also attended Harvard University for several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Malden a member of the Malden Moose and the 630 Club of Malden. She also worked for the City of Malden for many years as an Election Warden for Ward 8 and the Ward 8 Fourth of July Committee.  Mrs. Hobart was a lifelong resident of Malden, MA.

She is survived by her daughters; Ginger A. Hobart of Somerville, Patricia A. Maxwell of NH, Debbie L. Sheridan of Malden, Cindy L. Ryan of Springfield, her son Dennis A. Hobart of Malden, her sisters; Barbara Babine  of Malden, her brothers; Donald Redmond  of TN and Robert Redmond of Canton, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl C. Hobart and her sister Shirley Drew of FL. .

She was born January 23, 1932 in Malden, MA the daughter of the late Martin and Hazel (Toothaker) Redmond.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, MA on Tuesday, Oct. 7th  from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

Contributions in Jean’s memory May be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, P.O. Box 55257, Boston, MA 02205-8626

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Starr of the Green Street Baptist Church of Melrose officiating.  Cremation will be in the Woodlawn Crematory in Everett.
