Dorothy Nezbeth Holzwarth
Dorothy N. (Clarke) Holzwarth of Middleton died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the
Hunt Nursing and Retirement Home in Danvers, she was 91. Born in Chelsea on
April 10, 1914, Dorothy was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Morresy)
Clarke. She was a graduate from Chelsea High School. Dorothy married her
sweetheart, Charles W. Holzwarth, in 1939 and the couple spent the next 25 years
together, raising their daughter Pamela, until Charles’ passing in 1964. Later
that year, she went to work for the Jordan – Marsh co. Dorothy worked in the Hosiery
department for 15 years until her retirement in 1979. Mrs. Holzwarth lived in
Middleton for the past 30 years and was previously from Malden and Chelsea.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Wilder of Middleton, her sister,
Geraldine Baker of Chelsea, and her sister-in-law, Helen Parshley of Revere.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Holzwarth, and her
son-in-law, C.W. Wilder.
At the request of Dorothy’s family, visiting hours have been omitted. A
memorial service will be held in the Weir~MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144
Salem St. Malden on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. Rev. Martha A.
Dominy of First Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial in Forest Dale
Cemetery, Malden took place on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in
Dorothy’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
