Marjory Etta Hovemeyer, 96, of Malden, formerly of Leesburg, Florida, and Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Union Hospital in Lynn, Massachusetts.  Marjory was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was raised in Prescott, Wisconsin.   She attended Carroll College for two years before receiving her undergraduate degree in business at the University of Minnesota.  She and Ernst H. Hovemeyer were married May 12, 1936, at Prescott, Wisconsin, and the two shared thirty-eight years until Ernst's death in December 1974.  After retirement, they enjoyed traveling in their Winnebago, visiting Alaska, Mexico, and many places in the United States and the Canadian Provinces and Territories.

For many years, Marjory was employed by the State of Ohio, working as an executive secretary in the Occupational Therapy Department of Longview State Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Her other employers included General Mills and the inventors of Play-Doh.  In addition, Marjory was a Red Cross volunteer in World War II, and thus was part of the home-front effort.

Marjory was a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, owing to her descent from Nathaniel Reynolds who served as a second lieutenant from New York State.  She was also a valued member of the First Presbyterian Church of Leesburg, Florida.

She is survived by her daughter Gretchen Hovemeyer Fox and husband Kenneth of Malden, Massachusetts;  her son Eric E. Hovemeyer and wife Christine Bieri of Cincinnati, Ohio;  and her son Stephen G. Hovemeyer and wife Sue of Huntington, West Virginia, as well as eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernst, her parents George E. and Electa S. (Miller) Hollister, and her sister Leola M. Kulas.

Marjory will be interred at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati, Ohio.
