Darleen Ann Illingworth

     Darleen A. (Burnett) Illingworth of Tewksbury, formerly of Melrose, died Friday, September 1, 2006 at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, she was 56.  Born on November 12, 1949 in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Anna (Szszesuil) Burnett.  Darleen was raised and educated in Malden; graduating from Malden High School with the Class of 1968.  After high school, Darleen went to work for the Malden City Clerk.  She worked as an administrative clerk until she retired in 1982.  In 1987, Darleen went to work as the secretary for the Trinity Church in Melrose until she left in 1993.  Darleen married her sweetheart, Richard J. Illingworth, in Medford on August 4, 1979.  The couple just celebrated their 27 year anniversary in August. Darleen had a real passion for reading and enjoyed traveling with her husband.  Darleen lived in Tewksbury for the past eleven years and was previously from Melrose. 

     Darleen is survived by her husband, Richard J. Illingworth of Tewksbury, her sons, Paul Rivera - Illingworth of Malden, Christopher Illingworth of Rochester, NY, and Corey Illingworth of Charlotte, NC, her siblings, Gene Burnett of Florida, Suzanne Gianelly of Andover, Robert Burnett of Mashpee, Debra Burnett of Clinton, and Ann Weldon of Derry, her grandchildren, Anna Rivera - Illingworth of Malden, Ethan Illingworth of Rochester, NY, and Aidan Illingworth of Rochester, NY.

     Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home 144 Salem Street, Malden on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10 AM. Rev. William J. Minigan, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church will be the celebrant.  Burial will immediately follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, September, 5, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
