Edith Ivery
(Goodman) , 63,
of Everett, formerly of Malden, died Friday, December 10, 2004 at
Mass General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Edith was born in Boston, one of nine children.
She graduated from Brighton High School with the class of
1956. In 1958, she
married her sweetheart Willie J. Ivery, and the two would settle
in Malden raising their family.
Edith began working as a switchboard operator for what was
then the Bell Telephone Company, working with the old PBX boards.
She later worked as an operator for a private firm, until
her retirement in the mid 90's. She was an active supporter of the the VFW, but in life was a
private person who enjoyed her quiet time.
Edith has lived in Everett for the past four years.
She is survived by her son Nicholas M. Ivery of Everett,
her daughter Michelle C. Ivery of Dorchester, her
daughter Cynthia Ivery of S.C., her son Christopher J. Ivery
of CA, her sisters, Rosalind L.
Wilson of NC,
Gloria Wing of Framingham,
Phyllis Goodman of Boston, Molly Murray of
Brockton, MA, and Bernice Penn of NC, her brother Murray
Goodman of AZ, and her grandson Nicholas M. Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie, her father
Irwin Goodwin, her mother Mary Levine, and her Arleen and Annette Goodman.
She was born September 06, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts
the daughter of Irwin and Mary (Levine) Goodwin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2004
at 1:00 P.M. at Weir
MacCuish Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in 175 Broadway,
Malden.
