JACOBSEN, Stanley H. of Malden, MA. March
12, 2008 at the age of 83. Stanley was a member of the Blue
Knights Mass Chapter 5, a member of the Melrose Auxiliary
Police, a Mason, and he also had joined the Shriners while
in Florida. Stan loved riding his Honda 1000 Gold Wing
motorcycle and retiring to Florida.
Stan was born on April 30, 1924, in Jamaica
Plain, MA, and was raised in Needham. He later moved to West
Roxbury, where he met his wife-to-be, Grace M. Johnson. The
couple were married on June 13, 1948, and moved to Winthrop, MA,
later settling in Malden, where they raised their two daughters.
The two shared nearly 60 years together.
Stan worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of
Boston for forty years until his retirement in 1988. After his
retirement, Stan and Grace spent their winters in Kissimmee, FL,
and later settled in Florida for twelve years.
Stan's hobbies included photography, model
trains, square dancing, CB and HAM radios, traveling the country
in an RV, and computers.
Stan is survived by his wife Grace
(Johnson), his daughters, Donna Jacobsen of Stoneham and Linda
Jacobsen of Potomac Falls, VA, his sister, Ellinor Harkins of
Millis, his grandchildren, Darren and Annamaria Mini of Lynn and
Stacy and Douglas Valente of Derry, NH, and his
great-grandchildren, Eric Valente and Emma and Sabrina Mini.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents,
Christian and Jutta (Nicholisen) Jacobsen, and his
brother, Kenneth Jacobsen.
Funeral services will be private.
