Anne M. Jewell

 

   Anne M. Jewell, 96, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Kindred Hospital, Peabody, after a long illness.  Mrs. Jewell was the daughter of the late Harry & Kathleen (Powers) Ball.

   Mrs. Jewell was born in Middletown, CT and came to Malden at an early age.  She was a graduate of the Cheverus School and after completing her education she worked at different retail shops in the area  later working for The Thomas Long Jewelers in Boston for twenty-five years as a buyer, later retiring in 1974. She was involved with the Ladies Aid of Malden, YWCA of Malden and the Old New Glass Class of Malden. She was longtime member of the Forestdale Community Church. Her passion was her love for her grandchildren & great-grandchildren and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

    She is survived by her daughter Barbara E. Brown and her  husband Francis  K. Brown of Malden,  grandmother of  Karen A. Brown of  Lynn, Dana  F. Brown and his wife Marie of  Malden, Janice E. Milley and her husband  Steven of Sudbury , Barbara  J. MacQuarrie and her husband  Stephen  of  NY,   Francis  K. Brown II and his wife  Theresa of Malden., great-grandmother of  Steven, Scott,  Ashley  Milley,  Dana-Marie and  Jacqueline Brown,  Francis Brown III, Andrew, Robert, Leah Brown, Meghan, Daniel and Joseph MacQuarrie and many nieces & nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Dana L."Lockie" Jewell, her father Harry Ball,  her mother Kathleen (Powers) Ball, her sister’s  Gladys  Derba, and  Harriet Ross.

Visitation will be held at the Weir ~ MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144  Salem St., Malden on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd.  from 4-8 PM

Contributions in Anne’s memory maybe made to the Forestdale Community Church,   235  Forest St., Malden, MA  02148.

    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Forestdale Community Church. The  Rev. Paul C. Mc Pheeters Pastor  will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
