Charles Melvin Johnston
Charles Melvin Johnston,
88, died Monday, October 6, 2003 at the Franklin Regional Hospital in
Franklin, NH. Charles was born and educated in Haverhill, MA. When he completed
school he was drafted into the U.S. Army during W.W. II serving in the European Theatre. When he was
discharged he married and settled in Malden. He was employed as a truck driver
for Teamsters Local # 25 driving for National Cylinder retiring in 1977.
Mr. Johnston lived in Pembroke, New Hampshire for the past twenty-two
years was previously from Malden, MA where he had resided for thirty-two years.
Charles was a life member of the VFW Post #28, in Suncook NH.
He is survived by sons; Richard F. Johnston of NH, Ronald
S. Johnston of NH, Thomas C. Johnston of Saugus, his daughters; Arlene Mc Kinnon
of Salem, Mildred V.
Johnston of Malden, his brother ,
Raymond Johnston of FL, his
sisters; Florence Joyal of AZ,
Dorothy Flemming of NH and ten
grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Julia, Ann (Haddad)
Johnston.
He was born January 15, 1915 in Haverhill, Massachusetts
the son of the late Charles and Mildred (Johnson) Johnston.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144
Salem Street, Malden, MA on Wednesday from 4-8 PM
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2003 at
11:00 A.M. at the funeral home Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery
in Malden.
