M. Jeanne (Rouillard) Jones of Melrose died January 25, 2007 at the Boston Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by her loving family.  Born at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on March 23, 1926, Jeanne was the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Friberg) Rouillard.  Raised in Braintree and then Malden, she graduated from Malden High School in 1944.  Jeanne was a devoted daughter and sister who loved “big band” music, was active in the Resolute Rebekah Lodge and at the Boston YWCA, and taught Sunday school at St. Paul’s Episcopal Parish in Malden.  She worked at Andrew Dutton in Boston, before dedicating herself to making a home for her beloved husband and family.

Jeanne met Richard W. Jones, her best friend, soul-mate and husband of 53 years, in 1952.  They were married at St. Paul’s in June of 1953, and settled in Melrose in 1963.  Jeanne was a longtime member of the Camp Fire organization, participating in town and Greater Boston Council activities in addition to being Leader and “second mother” to her own group of girls for twelve years.  She was an avid seamstress and talented at a variety of crafts.  She remained an active, dedicated and much-loved member of St. Paul’s Parish throughout her life.

Jeanne was a devoted mother to Richard B. Jones and his wife Susan T. of Hudson, NH; Pamela J. Foshay and her husband Bruce F. of Bedford, NH; and A. Ted Jones of Medford.  She was the cherished grandmother of six: Jennifer, Bethany, Victoria, Andrew and Matthew Jones, and Lauren Barletta.  She will also be missed by her sister Phyllis M. Hodgson and her husband, John G., also of Melrose; her brother-in-law Robert A. Jones and his wife Linda of Boothbay, Maine; her many nieces and nephews; and by her beloved Pekingese, Sandy.
