Arthur Allen Joy

Arthur Allen Joy,  77, a retired production manager for New England Metal Spinning of Malden, where he worked for 25 years, died Friday, September 22, 2000 at Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett, Massachusetts.  Arthur was born and educated in Portsmouth NH.  After high school, he enlisted in the merchant marines for 2 years.   Upon his leaving the Merchant Marines, he immedialely enlisted in the Navy.  He served for over 3 years and fought in WWII.  After the war, he moved to the Boston area, eventually settling in Malden with his wife Dorothy.  He remained in Malden for the next  42 years.   He was an accomplished woodworker, and had an affection for animals, especially birds and cats, but truly the most important thing in his life was his family. 

  He is survived by his wife Dorothy,his son George A. Joy  of Ft. Myers, FL,son  Arthur A. Joy Jr.  of Altamont Springs, FL, daughter Eunice M. Pimental  of Malden, son, Robert C. Joy  of Milford, NH,and daughter Susan V. Joy-Nowicki of Duxbury, MA.  He is also survived by  11 Grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

  He was preceded in death by his father, Haven L. Joy, and his mother, Bernice Ellison, and sister, Marion Cottrell.

  Funeral services will be held Monday, September 25, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home.   Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
