Irving Sinclair Knight

Irving Sinclair Knight,  87,  died Tuesday, March 04, 2003 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose.   Irving was born in Cambridge, and was raised and educated in Everett.   After high school, Irving enlisted in the US Army to help fight WWII.  He served with the 24th infantry,  and saw action in the South  Pacific Theatre.  He was discharged in 1945 at Ft. Devens. 

Following his discharge, he took various employment opportunities, including as a truck driver, but he eventually settled in as a  machinist for the APV Gaulin Machine Shop.  He worked there until his retirement 20 years ago. 

Irving was a past member of the East Side Athletic  Club in Malden, and an Associate member of the VFW Post 639 in Malden.  He also had  a fondness for the mountains of New Hampshire, and enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling there.  Irving also had a great love of horses, that was reflected in his collection of horse figurines. 

He is survived by his wife Phyllis E. (Gray)  of Malden, MA, his daughter Marcia E. Kilpatrick  of Malden, his son Owen S. Knight  of Malden, his daughter Anna -Louise Forte of Malden, his son Brian I. Knight  of Malden,  his son David W. Knight of Malden, his brothers Frank Knight  of Canton, and Owen Knight  of Everett,  and his sister Thelma Massey of Malden.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his Parents  Joseph and Louise  Knight,  and his son Bruce E. Knight.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Thursday March 6th from 4 - 8 PM

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 7th, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home. Rev. David Kilpatrick will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Puritan Lawn  Memorial Park in Peabody.
