John Joseph Kucenski
John Joseph Kucenski,
90, died Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center
in Medford. John was born in
Flatbrook, MO. in 1913. At the age
of 4 he moved to Whatley, MA where he was raised and educated. At the age of 18,
John enlisted with the Merchant Marines and sailed with them for 20 years,
enabling him to travel all over the world. After his service, John worked for
many years as a carpenter and installer for Keystone Windows in Saugus.
He moved to Malden in 1952, first in Maplewood, then to the Upper
Highland area. In 1958 he
took employment with Quint's Furniture in Malden and worked there for over 20
years as a handyman until his retirement in 1978. John was a past member of the
East Side Athletic Club of Malden, and a past member of the Loyal Order of the
Moose, Lodge 1910 in Malden.
He is survived by his wife Helen M. (Noyce) of
Malden, his foster daughter Helen Garafano of Charlestown, his granddaughters
Veronica Wilmoth of Medford, Linda Fielding of Melrose, and Helen
Cook of FL, his sister in law
Gladys of Whately, his nephews John
Kucenski of Whately, and Joseph Kucenski of Whately, and his nieces Betsy
Kucenski of Whately and Dorothy Kucenski of Whately.
He was preceded in death by his parents John
and Mary (Kulesa) Kucenski Sr., and his brother Joseph Kucenski.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2004 at
1:30 P.M. at Woodlawn Chapel. Father Vincent Gianni will be officiating.
Cremation will be in the Woodlawn Crematory in Everett.
