Cora Maria Lavino
Cora Maria Lavino, 87,
longtime resident of Malden, died Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the Glen Ridge
Nursing Care Center in Medford. Cora
was born in Boston, and at an early age she moved to Malden where she was raised
and educated. At the age of 21, she
married her husband John Lavino and the two shared over 50 years together until
his passing in 1990. Cora was a
loving mother and grandmother, and all knew her as a very caring person.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth J. Demetrio
of Malden, her son, Vincent
J. Lavino of Malden, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lavino,
her parents, Carmine and
Emilia (Ungaro) Botto, and her brothers Generoso Botto, Anthony Botto,
and Alfonso Botto.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144
Salem Street, Malden, on Tuesday
from 4 – 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on
Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at 1100 P.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 12:00 Noon at St. Joseph's
Church, Malden. Rev. Richard
T. Bakker of St. Joseph's Church will be officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Cross
Cemetery, Malden.
