Marie Roselle Lawlor

Marie Roselle Lawlor, 82, a
retired legal secretary, passed away Monday, July 31, 2006 at Kaplan Hospice
House in Danvers, Massachusetts. Marie was born in Boston, and spent her early
years in Foxboro. At an early age she moved to Malden, where she attended and
graduated from the Cheverus School. After High School, she attended Burdette
College where she earned her degree in Business. In May of 1953, Marie
married her sweetheart, John P. Lawlor, and the two would share nearly 45 years
together raising their children until John's passing in 1997. Soon
after Marie graduated from Burdette, she went to work for Judge
Harry Lack in Everett as a legal secretary. From there, she took employment
with the Boston Law Firm, Sweetser & Lombard. She worked at the firm until her
retirement in 1996. After her retirement, Marie and her husband John enjoyed
wintering in Vero Beach, Florida.
Marie was a member of St.
Josephs Church in Malden, was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Post 639
of Malden, and a member of the Deborah Women’s Club of Vero Beach, FL. In her
spare time, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Wakefield Sr.
Center.
She is survived by her son,
Christopher M. Lawler of Malden, her daughter, Kathleen M. and her husband
Clifford T. Jacobs of Rowley, MA, her brother John N. and wife Rose Marie
Fowler of Fl, her sister, Arleen Carpenter and husband Davie of Wakefield,
her grandchildren, Jennifer Jacobs of Malden, Daniel Lawlor of FL, and
Lindsey Lawlor of Malden, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her husband John P., her parents. Frederick and Mary (Dwyer) Fowler, her son,
John P. Lawlor Jr. her brothers, Frederick, Gerald, William, ad David Fowler,
and her sisters, Gwen McLeod and Theresa Fowler.
Visitation will be held at
Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Wednesday, Aug 2nd,
from 4-8 PM
Funeral services will be held
from the funeral home Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 9:00 A.M. for a Mass of
Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 AM. Rev. Richard T.
Bakker of St. Joseph's Church will be officiating. Burial will immediately
follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
