     John Ambrose Le Blanc  Jr.

 

John Ambrose Le Blanc Jr., 70, a retired accountant, died Saturday, November 17, 2001 at The Center for Optimum Care in Wakefield, MA

  John was born in Wakefield, MA and was a graduate of Wakefield High School Class of 1949. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during the Korean Conflict. When he was discharged from the service he enrolled in  Bentley College in Waltham and received a degree in accounting.  He then worked as an auditor with H.P. Hood Co. in Charlestown for five years, before going to work for Jordan Marsh  Dept. Stores of  Boston and Braintree, where he worked for 27 years,  retiring in 1992.  John was an avid sports enthusiast and followed  the Boston Red Sox & Celtics. He also loved to travel and was an avid photographer.  John was a resident of  Malden, MA  for  the last 45 years.

He is survived by his sons, John A. Le Blanc and  James P. Le Blanc  both of Malden, MA, one daughter,  Joyce N. Morrell  of  Half Moon Bay, CA. His brothers Walter        Le Blanc of LA, Louis Le Blanc  of  CA, James Le Blanc  of  Reading, Charles Le Blanc of CA. His grandchildren, Jennifer Le Blanc, John Le Blanc  IV, Julie Le Blanc  and  Andrew Morrell  and his  former wife Joan (Harnois) Le Blanc, of Malden

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Le Blanc and Wilfred Le Blanc.

He was born October 24, 1931 in Wakefield, MA the son of the late John and Annie (Du long) Le Blanc Sr..  He served in the Marines during   Korean Conflict having attained the rank of Corporal. He enlisted on October 21, 1951 at Squantam, MA and was discharged on October 21, 1953 at Cherry Point, NC 

Visitation will be held in the Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden   on Friday from 5-9   PM

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory maybe made to the Alzheimer's Association, 36 Cameron Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140 -1102 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 24, 2001 at 10AM in   Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main St., Malden. The Rev. Daniel J. Hickey, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church and the Rev. John  P. Kelleher OSB of the Glastonbury Abbey, Hingham will be the co-celebrants.  Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
