Charles F. "Charlie". Leason, Jr
Charles F. Leason, Jr., 69,
died suddenly at his retirement home in Palmyra, ME on Wednesday, July 13, 2005. Born in
Sarasota, FL, the son of the late Charles F. Sr. and May I. (Clark) Leason.
Charlie was raised in Melrose and attended the local schools, until his
father’s illness forced him to leave school and find work to help his family.
He later enlisted with the National Guard and served for 3 years. Charlie
became a welder, and worked at various shops including Space Metal and Engine,
L.L.O. , and Artic in throughout his life until he retired. Charlie was an
avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed collecting firearms.
He also had a fascination with science fiction. Charlie had lived in Palmyra,
Maine for the past four years.
He is survived by his wife
Dolores C. of Malden, his children, Charles F. Leason, III of Laconia, NH,
Elizabeth M. Giunta of Malden, Linda A. Doucette of Woburn, and Brenda L. Leason
of Everett, his siblings, Robert Leason of Stoneham, Katherine Heir of FL, Mary
Jo Leason of CO, David Leason of Lynn, and Marjorie Colon of Woburn, as well as
twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his sister, Gloria Cross.
Funeral Services will be held
from the Weir - MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. MALDEN on Mon.
July 18th at 8:45 AM. for a Mass fo Christian Burial in
the St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellway West, Medford, at 10:00 AM. Rev. Joseph R. Foster, Pastor of St. Francis
in Medford will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Forest Dale Cemetery,
Malden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sun. July 17th
from 4 to 8 PM.
