Dorothy A. Lewis
Dorothy A. Lewis, 80, of Malden died Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Harborside Cedar
Glen Nursing Home in Danvers. Dorothy
was born and raised in Chelsea, attending the Chelsea school system.
She married her sweatheart, Charles J. Lewis in 1940, and the two would
share over 40 years together until Charles passing in 1981.
During WWII she aided the homefront war effort by working at the Boston
Naval Shipyard. Following her
employment there, she worked for many years as a nurses aid for Mc Fadden Manor
nursing home in Malden, until her retirement in 1982.
Even after her retirement, she worked a few years in Mal's Bakery in
Malden. Mrs. Lewis lived in Malden,
Massachusetts for 52 years and was previously from .
She is survived by her daughters Dorothy
C. Walsh of Peabody, Linda T. Foster of Chelsea, her son Charles J. and his wife Mary Lou Lewis
of Panama City, FL, by Grace Cayon (sister) of Carver, as well
as 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles J Lewis,
her parents William P. Catherine
(Williams) Mc Hatton, her brother John A. Mc Hatton, and her sister Mary E.
Zinchuk.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Golden Rule
Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on
Monday, July 27th, from 5 - 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at
9:00 A.M. from the funeral home for a 10:00 A.M.
Mass at St. Joseph's Church. Rev. William J. Minigan, Pastor of St. Joseph's
Church will be the celebrant. Burial
will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
