Charles H. Lindquist

     Charles Harrison Lindquist of Everett died Monday, March 13, 2006 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, he was 53.  Born on June 2, 1952 in Stoneham, he was the son of the Mary  S. (Funicella) and the late George L. Lindquist.  After high school, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Navy on November 21, 1969.  He served aboard the USS Norris and USS Hartley as a Seaman Recruit until he was discharged April 21, 1971.  Upon his return home, Charles worked as an independent tractor trailer driver, driving for many companies.  In the early 1980’s he worked for the Malden Housing Authority until he became a police officer with Malden Police Department in June of 1986.  Charles worked as a patrolman for the past 20 years.  Charles had recently attended Western New England College and graduated in early 2000 with a degree in Criminal Justice.  He married Maryann (Swierk) on August 17, 2002 in Malden.  Charles was a member of the Enforcers, an organization of law enforcement motorcyclists.  Charles also belonged to the Eagles Club of Malden as well as the Merritt Club in Chelsea.  He was also a member of the Irish-American Club in Malden and was a member of the club's softball team.  Charles loved playing softball, golfing and riding his Harley.  Mr. Lindquist was a life-long resident of Malden but had lived in Everett for the past two years.

     He is survived by his wife, Maryann Lindquist of Everett, his son, Charles H. Lindquist, II of Malden, his grandchildren, Abigale Roth of Medford and Kyle Lindquist of Malden, his mother, Mary S. Lindquist of Malden, his brother, Kenneth G. Lindquist, and his wife Rosemary of FL, his sister, Linda and her husband, Barry Rodriguez of Malden, his niece, Julie Simpson, and his nephews, Paul Bottari and Kenneth Lindquist.

     Funeral from the Weir~MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem St. Malden at 9 AM.  Fr. William B. Minigan, Pastor of St. Joseph’s Church will be the celebrant.  Burial will immediately follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, March 16, 2006 from 4 to 8 PM.

     In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charles’ memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association / Mass Chapter, 330 Congress St. Suite 5, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
