Mildred Luna Liset
Mildred Luna (Bates) Liset, 78, a retired nursing
supervisor, died Tuesday, February 26, 2002 at the Lahey-Hitchcock Clinic in
Burlington, MA after a long illness. Mildred
was a graduate of Black River High School in Ludlow, VT with the Class of 1941.
After high school she moved to Boston and graduated from the New England
Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1944.
She worked there until she married and raised her family in Revere, MA.
Mildred was the visiting nurse for the City of Revere from 1960-1966. She
returned to the New England Baptist Hospital and was the Nursing Supervisor of
the I.V. Department from 1966-1987. Mildred
retired in 1987. She also worked at
the Malden Hospital part time and was a very active member of the Maplewood
Baptist in Malden. Mildred's life was a testimony to her faith in Christ.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela J. Donovan of
Maine, Michele Smith of Washington, Denise Liset of Malden, MA and her
grandchildren, Ryan & Amanda Smith of Washington.
She was born November 9, 1923 in Cavendish, VT the daughter
of the late Leo and Fleda (Van Guilder) Bates.
Visiting hours have been omitted.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions
in Mildred's memory be made to the Maplewood Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 729
Salem St. Malden, MA 02148.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2002 at
11:00 A.M. in the
Maplewood Baptist Church, 729 Salem St. Malden with Rev. Jack
Bailey officiating. Burial
will be in the Village Cemetery in Cavendish, VT
at a later date.
