Etta Livingstone

Etta  Livingstone,  98, died Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the Lawrence  Memorial Hospital in Medford, MA, after a brief illness.  Etta was born in London, England and came to the United States at the age of two with her family settling in Malden. When she completed school she married and raised her family. She then went to work as a sales clerk for several Malden retail stores. She loved to crochet, knit and loved to cook for her family and friends. She was also an avid bingo player having started playing over sixty- five years ago and up to a month ago was still playing.  Mrs. Livingstone lived in Malden, MA for ninety-six years.

She is survived by her daughter, Elinor Ammidown of Malden, her brother, Maurice Levy of Revere, her sisters, Gertrude Foreman of Lynn and Pauline Sugerman of Wilmington, her daughter in-law, Margery Livingstone of OR, three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews..

She was preceded in death by her husband Neil Livingstone and her son Donald Livingstone both formerly of Malden.

She was born February 27, 1904 in London, England he daughter of the late  Abraham and Leah (Lipchewitz) Levy.     

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd  from 2-4 PM

Contributions in Etta’s memory may be made to the Bread of Life. Inc. 511 Main Street, Malden MA 02148

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at the Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, MA with the Rev. Ruth R. Oduor, Pastor of the Christ United Methodist Church of Malden  officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
