Ann Margaret
Lowden
Ann M. (Santino) Lowden, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the
Sunbridge Nursing Home in North Reading, she was 88. Born on
June 12, 1919 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late
Alphonso and Mary (DiCiccio) Santino. Ann was raised and
educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School with
the Class of 1938. Ann was married to Virgil L. Lowden and the
couple settled in Oregon to raise their family. After Virgil
passed in 1968, Ann returned back to the Malden area. She
worked for Commercial Union Insurance Co. in Boston as a Data
entry clerk for 15 years. Ann went to work for Massachusetts
Statistics in Wakefield and continued to do data entry work for
8 years for the company until she retired in 1992. Ann was the
past president of the Jaunter’s Club in Malden from 1986 to
1987. Ann was a Malden resident for the past 39 years.
Ann is survived by her step-daughter, Ruby Karizer of Wallowa,
OR, her siblings, Michael Santino of Bristol, CT and Phillis
Carozza of Malden, and her nephew, Francis P. Santino, Jr. of
Kissimmee, FL.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ann was preceded in
death by her step-children, Bonnie Dell and LeRoy Lowden as well
as her brother, Francis P. Santino, Sr.
Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband and a graveside
service will be held in June 2008 in the Enterprise Cemetery in
Enterprise, OR.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ann’s memory may be made to
the charity of one's choice.
