Betty Patience MacKenzie
Betty Patience Mac Kenzie, 81, a retired secretary, died Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at
the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. She was born in Coventry, England
and came to the United States as an infant with her parents. She was a graduate
of Roslindale High School and Burdett. When she completed school she moved to
Washington, DC where she was employed a secretary at the pentagon during W.W.II.
When she returned to this area she was employed
as a secretary at Leaver Brother of Medford where she resided until
settling in Malden over forty years. ago. She was also employed as a medical
secretary and was a member of the Maplewood Baptist Church for over forty-five
years.
She is survived by her husband Wallace H. Mac Kenzie of Malden, his daughters,
Debra L. Ortega of Ca and Allyn J.”AJ”
Morin of Easthampton, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother James Blackmore of Chelsea, and her
sister Gwendoline B. Goode of CT.
She was born April 12, 1919 in Coventry, England the daughter of the late James
E. and Florence L. (Masters) Blackmore.
Memorial Closure Services will be held Monday, February 26th,
at 11:00 A.M. at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home144 Salem Street, Malden with Pastor
Joseph DeCosta of the Maplewood
Baptist Church officiating. Cremation
will be in the Woodlawn Crematory in Everett.
