Jo-Ann Roberta Mac Donald
Jo-Ann Roberta Mac Donald, 61, died Monday, September 29, 2003 at the Mountain View
Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jo-Ann
was born and educated in Malden. When she completed school she went to work for
Commercial Filters of Malden as a clerk. She
then went to work for the City of Malden where she was employed as the
Affirmative Action Officer and the Labor Service Director for eighteen years
until her retirement four years ago. She
was instrumental in the formation of the Human Rights Commission of Malden and
was recognized by the Malden YWCA for her many civic endeavors as their Woman of
The Year recently. She was a member of the League of Women’s Voters of Malden.
Mrs. Mac Donald lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for past four years and prior to that
had been a life long resident of Malden.
She is survived by her husband Robert “Mac” Mac Donald
of Las Vegas, NV, her sisters; Norma E.
Rogers of Malden, Hazel A. Jolly of Malden, several nieces and nephews, cousins,
uncles and aunts.
She was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Brigham of
NYC.
She was born July 11, 1942 in Malden, MA. the daughter of
the late John and Alice (Hector) Garro.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144
Salem St., Malden on Monday, Oct 6th,
from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at
11:00 AM . in the Weir - Mac Cuish Funeral
Home with the Rev. Martha A. Dominy Pastor of the First Baptist Church
officiating. Burial will be in the
Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in
Peabody.
