Rose Alexandrea MacLean
Rose A. (MacIsaac) MacLean,
91, died on Sunday, May 29, 2005 at the Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham, MA.
Rose was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia, Canada on May 5, 1914, the daughter of
the late Lewis and Isabelle (Gillis) MacIsaac. As a teenager, she moved to the
United States and settled in Malden and then later became a U.S. Citizen. Rose
married Donald M. MacLean on March 3, 1950. The couple had been married for
over 30 years until Donald’s passing. She worked for the Sylvania Light Co. for
many years until her retirement. Rose was a member of the Gaelic Club of
Watertown and was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Malden.
She is survived by her sister
Patricia Aucoin of Braintree, MA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her brothers, Duncan, Allister, John Leo and Francis X.
MacIsaac, all of Canada, and her sisters Mamie Gillis of Dorchester, Kay Hammel
of Readville, and Annie Dixon of Canada.
Funeral will be held from the
Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Friday, June 3,
2005 at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 770
Salem St. Malden at 9 AM. Fr. Richard T. Bakker will be celebrating the Mass.
Interment will take place in Stuartdale Cemetery in Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia,
Canada at a later date. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the
funeral home from 6 to 9 PM.
