John Emilio Mattucci
John Emilio Mattucci, 55, of
Florida, formerly a longtime resident of Melrose, died Friday, June 03, 2005 at
his home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. John was born in Stoneham and then raised
and educated in Melrose. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the US Navy
and served aboard the Air Craft Carrier USS America(CV66), the sister ship of
the J.F.K.(CV67) during the Vietnam War. Upon returning to the states after the
war, John served a few more years in the reserves. John was a avid lover of
horses, and thoughout his life owned many.
He was the beloved husband of
Rose Ann (Moratta). Cherished father of Paul A. Mattucci of NH, Jennifer Gomes
of Methuen, and Paula M. Mattucci of Revere. Cherished grandfather of Daniel,
Paul-Mark, Erica, Alexander, and Stephanie., his mother Phillys, his brothers
Anthony and Mark, and his sister Lisa.
He was preceded in death by
his father Emilio Mattucci, and his sister Lisa.
He served in the Navy during
Vietnam Era having attained the rank of AN. enlisted on June 2, 1971 at Melrose,
MA discharged on March 26, 1973 at Bainbridge, MD
Visitation will be held at
Weir MacCuish Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM
Funeral services will be held
from the funeral home on Tuesday June 16, 2005 at 8:00 A.M. for a Mass of
Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M in the Immaculate Conception Church. Father
Richard J. Mehm Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church will be officiating.
Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
