Norman E. "Rusty"
Mc Intire, 80, a retired plant
foreman for Sterling - Clark- Lorton Corp., where he worked for 23 years died
Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn, MA
Norman was born in Stoneham and educated in Reading and after completing
school enlisted in the U.S. Army when WWII
broke out.
He served in the European, African and Middle Eastern
Theaters receiving the Purple Heart in combat in France. He remained
in the US Army for twenty years also serving during the Korean Conflict
retiring in 1962. Upon his discharge he went on
to work for Sterling-Clark- Lorton Corp. of
Malden and retired in
1985. He then worked for the Malden
Trust Co. of Malden for five years as a currier. Norman also did volunteer work
at the Malden Hospital for many years. Mr.
Mc Intire lived in Malden, MA for
41 years and was previously from
Reading.
He is survived by his wife Hedwig M. (Gaertner) Mc Intire,
his brother Edward D.
McIntire of Reading, MA, his
sister-in-law Mary Mc Intire of Tewksbury,
his brother-in-law's Erich Gaertner
of Germany, and L. Harold Peterson
of Wakefield, MA. He was also
survived by several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Clarence E.
Mc Intire, his mother Elsie M. Brown, his brothers Herbert
E. Mc Intire, Richard A. Mc
Intire, and his sister Edna Peterson.
He was born October 25, 1920 in Stoneham, MA the son of the
late Clarence and Elsie (Brown) Mc
Intire. He served in the Army
during World War II having attained the rank of SP5
(E-5). He enlisted on September 17, 1940 at Boston, MA and was
discharged on November 30, 1962 at Ft. Banks, MA
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144
Salem St. Malden, on Saturday from 10-11 AM.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2001
at 11:00 A.M. at Weir - Mac Cuish Funeral
Home. The Rev. James W. Knowles
will be officiating. Burial will be
in the Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading.
