George Francis McCullough

George Francis McCullough,  54, a retired owner of  Crescent Tool in Wakefield,  died Tuesday, June 25, at his home in Peabody.  George was born in Cambridge,  the son of George and Mary (Mulligan) McCullough.  He was  raised in Wakefield, and attended the Wakefield School Systems.   After high school, he enlisted in the Army to help fight in the Vietnam War.  He became a Green Beret, and attained the rank of Sgt. before returning to the states.  He was also awarded the Gallantry Cross with Palm for his bravery and dedicated service.

Shortly after returning to the States, he opened Crescent Tool, his own machine shop, in Wakefield.  He was an extremely skilled machinist, and could build virtually anything.  He successfully ran the business for over ten years, until his disabilities stemming from his military service forced him to sell the machine shop.  Mr. McCullough lived in Peabody, for the past  20 years.

He is survived by his father, George  W. McCullough of Malden, his sister Susan J. McCullough of Waltham, his nephew Mathew Gomes  of Waltham,  and his brother in law, Richard Gomes of Taunton.

Funeral Services will be private.
