Margaret Catherine “Peggy” McNaught
Peggy McNaught, 77, died
Friday, July 8, 2005 at Winchester Hospital in Winchester, MA after a long
illness. Born in Malden on August 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Raymond A.
and Lillian M. (Spencer) D’Eon. Peggy attended the Chevrus Girls School in
Malden and graduated with the class of 1945. She married her sweetheart Edward
A. McNaught on June 17, 1950 in Sacred Hearts Church in Malden were Peg was a
communicant. The couple lived in Malden for over forty years until her illness
forced her to take residence at the Windgate Nursing Home in Reading. The two
just recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this past
June. She was a member of the Norman Prince Princettes, a ladies chorus in
Melrose. Peggy loved watching her grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed
dancing and having a good time and loved life.
She is survived by husband,
Edward A. McNaught of North Reading, her children, Gail McNaught Fortin of North
Reading, Edward A. and his wife Perri-Ann McNaught, Jr. of Windham, ME, and
Kathy A. and her husband, Thomas, Cullity of Tewksbury, her brothers, Raymond A.
D'Eon of Freedom, NH, Robert F. D'Eon of Woburn, John T. D'Eon of Virginia
Beach, VA, and William D'Eon of Everett, her sisters, Claire Bannon of Malden,
Janet Morello of Revere, and Marie Zampitella of Malden, her grandchildren,
George A. Fortin III, Kerri A. Cullity, Edward A. McNaught III, Amanda Fortin,
Timothy P. McNaught, Amy L. McNaught, Lauren M. Cullity, Lindsey A. Cullity, and
Patrick T. Cullity, her great-grandchildren, Margaret "Maggie" Fortin and
George A. Fortin, her brother-in-law, William and his wife, Dorothy, McNaught of
Malden.
She was preceded in death
recently by her brother, James D’Eon and her sister-in-law, Audrey D’Eon.
Funeral from the Weir~MacCuish
Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Monday, July 11th
at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297
Main St. Malden at 11 AM. Fr. Daniel J. Hickey, Pastor of Sacred Hearts Church
will be celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park,
Peabody. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, July 10th
from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Contributions in Peggy’s memory may be made to the American
Stroke Assoc. 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
