John Joseph Medeiros
John J. Medeiros, died Tuesday morning, January 17, 2006 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford., he was 78. Born on February 11, 1927, in Somerville, he was the son of the late Joseph A. & Maria B. (Cordero) Medeiros. He was educated in the Somerville school system and lived in Malden for the last thirty years he was formerly from the Somerville and Cambridge area. John was a truck mechanic with the former Northeast International Truck in Medford for over twenty years, until retiring in 1989. He enjoyed fishing, hockey and the Boston Bruins. John was an avid model car collector and enjoyed vacationing in Maine. He is survived by his life partner, Jeanne L. De Priest of Malden, his son, John Medeiros of Ayer, MA and two grandchildren. His sister, Stella Manning of Waltham, his brothers, Joseph & Richard Medeiros both of Somerville, his step-children, Deborah Halberg of Bellows Falls, VT Monika Saad Saoud of Katy, TX, Franz Diesenbeck III of Clayton, NC, special grandfather to Amir & Alia Saad Saoud of Katy, TX, also survived by many nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph A. Medeiros, his mother Maria B. (Cordero) Medeiros, and his brothers Thomas, Edward and George Medeiros. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Monday, January 23rd at 12 noon in the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden. In lieu of flowers contributions in John’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-9376 or the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
