Vera “Yah-Yah” Montague
Vera “Yah-Yah” Montague,
89, died suddenly, Saturday,
March 1, 2003 at the Holy Family Hospital & Medical Center in Methuen, MA.
Vera was born in South Weymouth and educated in Malden schools. When she
completed school she went to work for Carr Fastener/TWR of Cambridge as an
inspector and office manager. She was employed there for over forty-five years
until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish
in Malden. Miss Montague was a
lifelong resident of Malden, Massachusetts.
She is survived by her sister, Alice E. Scofield of Needham, her niece, Joan G. Boughan of
North Reading and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Grace E. Gillen of
West Yarmouth, her sister Dorothy Loser of Malden and her brother Chester
Montague of IN.
She was born January 16, 1914 in South Weymouth, MA the
daughter of the late William and Annie ( Johns) Montague.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144
Salem Street, Malden on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM
A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Wednesday,
March 5, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant
Street, Malden. Father Richard J. Mehm Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church
will be officiating. Burial will be
in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
