Joseph Moreno Charles Joseph Moreno, 91, a retired sub shop owner of Charlie Moreno Sub Shop, formerly at 282 Highland Ave. Malden, died Friday, October 20, 2000 at Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford, MA. Mr. Moreno was born and educated in Glens Falls, NY later moving to the Malden area. Charlie opened his first Sub Shop in Malden in 1942 and later grow to many shops in the area, after more than 20 years in the business he retired. He was a communicant of St. Josephs Church in Malden for many years. Mr. Moreno lived in Malden, MA for the last 58 years. He is survived by his wife Eva (Palladino) Moreno, Wally Moreno (Brother), Rose Rueli (Sister) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Soccosso Moreno, and his mother, Philamenia Santoro and many brothers and sisters. He was born November 8, 1908 in Glens Falls, New York , the son of Soccosso and Philamenia (Santoro) Moreno. Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home on Monday October 23nd. from 6PM- 9PM A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, Malden,on Tuesday, Oct. 24th. at 10 AM. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
