Eva Moreno

 

     Eva (Capone) Moreno, of Beverly formerly of Malden died Saturday May 28th. at the Glenridge Nursing Care Center, Medford, she was 94. Eva was born January 1, 1912 in Mansfield, MA the daughter of the late Alexander & Mariangelo (Capone) Palladino formerly of Lexington.

    After her schooling she would later move with her family to the Lexington area and would later  marry her sweet heart Charles Moreno. The couple would go on to develop the original sub roll and  open  a well known sub shop in 1942 called the Moreno Sub Shop, at 282 Highland Ave., Malden along with many shops in the area. The couple worked hard and long hours, with Eva doing most of the cooking for the next twenty years, until their retirement.  Mrs. Moreno had lived in Beverly, for the last three years and was previously from Malden.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Moreno, her father Alexander Palladino, and her mother Mariangelo Palladino and seven other siblings.

   Visitation will be held at the Weir ~ MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Saturday, June 3rd.  from 9-11 AM,  followed by a service at 11AM.

 Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
