Faith Eleanor Mullen

 

   Faith E. Mullen died Monday, October 29, 2006 at her home in Malden.  Faith was born in Boston on December 22, 1933, the daughter of the late David & Virginia (Shorter) Lowry. She was 73.

   Faith was educated in the Quincy school system and was a graduate of North Quincy High School, Class of 1952. After high school, she worked in the Quincy area and later met and married her true love, Walter G. Mullen, in 1960. The couple remained in Malden and raised their four children.

   In her later years, she worked for the Progressive Credit Union, Malden in the accounting department for ten years.  After she left there, she went to work for Baron Anderson Coat Factory in the payroll department. 

   Faiths whole life was her church, The First Church in Malden Congregational, where she served as a church deaconess. Faith was a very giving person and loved knitting and crocheting. She had just completed making four to five dozen chemo hats and baby blankets.  Faith had sent them to the little children in the Dana Farber Hospital in Boston and the Whidden Memorial in Everett. Faith had been a resident of Malden for the last forty-six years and was formerly from the Weymouth and Quincy area. 

   She is survived by her daughters, Debra A. Mullen and Laurie J. Mullen, both of Georgia, Heidi C. Mullen of Malden, and her son, David W. Lowry, her brother David W. Lowry of Connecticut and her four cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. Mullin on Oct. 7, 1981, her parents, David and Virginia (Shorter) Lowry and her sister, Caroline Idlewyne.

   Visitation will be held in Weir~ MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden, on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 from 4-8 PM.

    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 11:00 AM  in The First Church in Malden, Congregational. 184 Pleasant St., Malden. The Rev. Randall P. Ferrara will be officiating.  Interment will take place in the Village Cemetery, Weymouth at a later date.
