Florence Elizabeth "Betty" Murphy

Florence Elizabeth "Betty" (MacKenzie) Murphy,  82, a  housewife and mother, died Sunday, November 11, 2001 at the  Epoch Senior Care Center in Melrose, Massachusetts.  Betty was born and educated in Somerville and was a resident of Somerville until 1969.  At that time she moved to Malden where she has resided for the past thirty-two years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Malden.  

She is survived by her husband Alfred J. Murphy of Malden, her daughter, Mary Pickett of Sharon, her son Lawrence Murphy of Malden, her brother William Mac Kenzie of Wareham,  and sisters Mary Blake of Saugus, and Anne Sharkey of CA.  She is also survived by her granddaughter  Jeanne Thibault of Randolph and two great grandchildren.

Betty  was preceded in death by her  brother Elvin Mac Kenzie.

She was born May 06, 1919 in Somerville, Massachusetts the daughter of  the late Elvin and Elizabeth (Murphy) Mac Kenzie.

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden  on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM

A Mass of Christian burial  will be celebrated Thursday, Nov 15th, at 9:00 AM, at St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden.  Father  Richard T. Baker of St. Joseph will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
