Arthur Eugene O'Brien
Arthur Eugene O'Brien,
65, died at his home with his family by his side while under hospice care
on Saturday, October 4, 2003 in Malden, Massachusetts.
Arthur was born and educated in Malden. When he completed school he
enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the U.S.S. Monrovia as a
coxswain of landing craft for four years. When he was discharged from the Navy
he returned to Malden, married and began his own remodeling company,
O’Brien Remodeling, which he operated until his retirement in 1997. Mr. O'Brien was a lifelong resident of Malden.
He is survived by his wife Patricia
A. (Patten) of Malden, his
daughter, Bonnie Jean Laferriere of Lowell, his son,
Michael E. O'Brien of NH, his sisters;
Madeline Binda of FL and Elizabeth Dingwell of Revere, his brothers;
Richard O'Brien of Fl and Joseph O'Brien of CA, one grandchild and several
nieces and nephews.
He was born October 4, 1938 in Malden, MA, the son of the
late Edward and Madeline (Fortier) O'Brien.
He served in the U.S. Navy
from 1956-1959
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144
Salem Street, Malden, MA on Tuesday, Oct. 7th
from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM
Contributions in Arthur’s memory may be made to the
American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham MA 01701 9376
Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of
the family. Cremation will be in the Woodlawn Crematory in Everett.
