Allen Lawrence Olson
Allen
L. “Beanie” & “Buddha” Olson, of Lynn died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at the
Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, he was 63. Born in Everett on August
3, 1942, he was the son of Allen T. and the late Elaine K. (Willette) Olson. Al
was a graduate from Everett Vocational High School. After
high school, he went to work for the Millwright’s Union, Local 1121. At the time,
they were affiliated with the steelworkers union and they worked on steel
fabrication. When Al left the union, he went to work for the DiOrio Brothers
Co. in Everett. He worked there for many years as a mechanic on the company’s
diesel trucks. Al was an active member in the Dart League community. He played
for many years at the Venice Bar in Lynn. He enjoyed playing darts so much that
he went to work for Dartworld in Lynn in the maintenance department. In his
earlier years, Al loved to fish. He loved traveling with his wife, especially
to Las Vegas and Foxwoods. Al was a jack-of-all-trades. He knew how to fix
anything and everything. However, what he really loved to fix was his Harley.
Al would constantly be fixing, working, and riding his Harley. Al lived in Lynn
and was previously from Everett.
He is
survived by his wife of almost 29 years, Joyce J. Olson of Lynn, his children,
John Olson and his wife Carolyn of Everett, Erica Olson of Everett, and Davin
Olson of Everett, his father, Allen T. Olson of Derry, NH, his sisters, Judith
Silva of Corning, NY and Lisa Mancino and her fiancé John Ahern of Derry, NH,
his step-sister, Barbara Taracevitcz of Milton, and six grandchildren, Nicholas,
Christopher, and Jennipher Olson, Christine Pollit, Bianca Pine, and Cheyenne
Pine. Also
survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
He was preceded in death by
his mother, Elaine K. Olson and his siblings, Lucille, Roy N. and Jeff Olson.
Visitation will be held in the
Weir~ MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home 144 Salem St. Malden on Wednesday, May
3, 2006 from 4-8 PM.
Funeral services will be held
at the First Church of Malden, Congregational 184 Pleasant St. Malden on Thursday, May 4, 2006
at 10 AM. Rev. Rebecca Kavish-Girash will be officiating the funeral
service. Cremation will be in the Woodlawn
Crematory, Everett.
