Alice Jane Paige

 

Alice Jane (Harmon) Paige,  85, died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose.  Mrs. Paige  was born and educated in Medford attending the Medford school system  and was a graduate of Medford High School Class of 1939. Mrs. Paige had been a  member of the Christian Science Church in Boston since 1955.  Alice and her husband John were married at the Hillside Universalist Church in Medford on April 3, 1955 and settled in Medford were they resided for twenty-five years, later moving to Framingham for fifteen years and Malden for seven years. Alice and John were living at the Longwood Place in Reading for the last  three years. Mrs. Paige was a  file clerk for the Massachusetts Bonding & Insurance Co.  located in Post Office Sq. section of downtown Boston for ten years later working for the Christian Science Center in the Back Bay of Boston for twenty-eight years later retiring  in 1990.  Alice was a member of the Resolute Rebekah Lodge of Cambridge and the Order of the Eastern Star of  Saugus and Framingham. Mrs. Paige wrote to the confidential chat section of the Boston Globe,  her pen name was  Precious Memories & Wright's Ponds Daughter. During World War II  Mrs. Paige was a member of the Civil Air Patrol on the Northshore of Massachusetts.

She is survived by her husband John M. Paige  of  Reading, her brothers Donald Harmon  of Michigan, Kenneth Harmon  of Lo Jolla,  CA Roy Harmon of  Newburyport and her sister Frances  J. Wickoff   of Quincy. She was the aunt of  Shirley DiGiammarino  of Malden, George Harmon of Melrose and Sandra Woodward  of Dunedin, FL  and is  also survived by  many  nieces and  nephews.

She was born August 8, 1918 in Medford, MA  the daughter of the late George H. and Isabelle (Wallace) Harmon.

Visitation has been  omitted  at the request of the family. 

Contributions in Alice's memory may be made to the charity of ones choice. 

A memorial service will be held on  Saturday, Nov. 8th.,  at 11AM   in the Weir-Mac Cuish Funeral Home, 144  Salem St., Malden.
