Gladys A. Parsons
Gladys A. Parsons, 87,
a long time resident of Malden , MA died peacefully at her home on Thursday,
April 10, 2003 . Mrs. Parsons was born and educated in Spaniards Bay,
Newfoundland, Canada and after her marriage to her husband John C. Parsons moved
to Malden where John and Gladys’s brother, George formed the Vokey &
Parsons Construction Co. building homes on the North Shore and Southern New
Hampshire.
Mrs. Parsons was a lifelong member of the Centre United
Methodist Church of Malden. She served her church well, fund raising for the
annual fall tea, opening her home to the many dignitaries that visited there and
hosting her famous Christmas Choir parties and Tandem Club parties. She was a
member of the Eastern Star, Malden Old and New and she and her husband, John
served as secretaries for the Tandem Club. Glady’s and her husband also
enjoyed their summers at their second home in York Beach, Maine and annual trips
to Newfoundland and was proud to be an American.
Mrs. Parsons was preceded in 2000 by her husband of sixty
years John C. Parsons. She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter,
Kathryn D. and her husband Alan J. Walker, her daughter Deborah L. and her
husband John W. Edney. Grandmother of Jonathan
J. Walker and Emma Kate and her husband Jean C.
Paris. She had the most special love for her great-grandson John Henry
”Jack” Paris all of Kingston, NH. She is also survived by her sister Mabel
Peddle and her family of Spaniards
Bay, Newfoundland and many other relatives
in Canada and the United States.
She was born September 14, 1915 in Spaniards Bay,
Newfoundland, Canada the daughter of the late Solomon and Edith (Ross) Vokey.

Private Funeral Services were held on Monday, April 14,
2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Weir
MacCuish Funeral Home, with Chaplain Nancy Zaya of the VNA of Middlesex East officiating.
Burial followed in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
