Margaret Martha Petri

     Margaret M. (Hardik) Petri of Revere died Sunday, March 19, 2006 at her home, she was 80.  Born on September 21, 1925 in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Anna (Fedorchak) Hardik.  Peggy was a graduate of Pottsville High School with the Class of 1943.  After high school, she went on to attend a government college in Philadelphia were she earned a degree in a program designed to specifically teach students how to assist businessmen at the executive level.  She married her sweetheart, Daniel D. Petri on September 11, 1947 in Pottsville.  The two shared over 50 years in marriage together, raising their family until Daniel’s passing in December of 1997.  Peggy worked for over twenty years as an executive assistant for Tufts University until her retirement in 1985. She loved to crochet and quilt and also enjoyed reading.  Peggy was a communicant of the First Lutheran Church in Malden.  Mrs. Petri lived in Revere for the past six years and was previously from Malden.

     She is survived by her daughter, Beverly A. Kouble of Revere, her brother, George J. Hardik and his wife, Glenda of Liberty, NY, her granddaughters, Heather Virgin of Manchester, NH and Candice and her husband, Jerry White of Old Town, ME and eight great-grandchildren.  Margaret is also survived by her nieces, Karen Hardik of NY and Kathy Hardik of VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel D. Petri and her parents, George J. and Anna (Fedorchak) Hardik.

     A funeral service will be held in the First Lutheran Church of Malden, 62 Church Street, Malden on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 10 AM.  Pastor Angela Freeman will be officiating.  Family and friends are welcome to meet for a graveside service in Bourne National Cemetery, Off Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA at 1 PM.  

     Visitation will be held in the Weir~MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 from 4-8 PM.   

     In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to the First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 62 Church Street, Malden 02148.
