Italia Petto

 

Italia “Tillie”  Petto,  92, died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford, MA. Tillie was born in Boston and was raised and educated in Everett,  later moving  to Malden where she lived  most of her life. Tillie was  a retired seamstress working for different tailor shops in the Boston area.  She was a longtime member of the Amalgamated Clothing Worker Union of  Boston and enjoyed going to Boston and spending time with her coworkers for lunch. 

She was preceded in death by her husband William Petto, her father Vito Di Blasio, her mother Anna Della Piana, her sister Elda Pasche, her brother Peter Di Blasio, her sister Mary DiCillo, her sister Eleanora DiVidio, her sister Edith Johnson, her sister Anne Simonelli, her brother Americo Di Blasio, and her brother Frank Di Blasio.

She was born March  3, 1912 in Boston, MA  the daughter of the late Vito and Anna (Della Piana) Di Blasio.   

Visitation will be held at the Weir -MacCuish Funeral Home, 144  Salem St., Malden,  on Friday from 8 –9 AM one hour prior to the Funeral Mass.

Funeral was held from the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., MALDEN, on  Friday, Nov. 12th. at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden  at 9 AM.  Father George C. Hines of Immaculate Conception Church Malden will be the celebrant.
