Janet Powers Janet (Gaddes) Powers,
84, a retired clerk for the John Hancock Insurance Co. of Boston, where
she worked for 15 years, died Wednesday afternoon, January 29, 2003 at Mc Fadden
Memorial Manor in Malden, MA. Mrs. Powers was born in Everett and lived most of her life
in Malden. Mrs. Powers loved to
spend her leisure time reading
a good romance novel. She
was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and
aunt who loved her family dearly. She is survived by her daughters, Gail E. Forrest and her
husband Richard, Cheryl A. Hickey
and her husband Joseph all of Malden and her two sisters Elizabeth Bennett of
Malden and Joan Kilroy of CA. She is also survived by five grandchildren &
nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father John A. Gaddes, her mother Euphemia Grundy, her
sons Ronald Powers & Denis
Powers, and four sisters and one brother. She was born May 4, 1918 in Everett, MA the daughter of late John and Euphemia (Grundy) Gaddes. Visitation will be held at the Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in the Weir - Mac Cuish Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Hancock of Forest Dale Community Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
