Dawn Elaine Prestone

     Dawn E. (Rivers) Prestone of Saugus died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, she was 71.  Born on October 25, 1934 in Brighton, she was the daughter of Thomas and the late Lilah (Ames) Rivers.  Dawn was raised in Malden and went to Malden High School, graduating with the Class of 1953.  She married her childhood sweetheart, Domenic Prestone, in Malden on June 26, 1955.  The couple shared the next 50 years together raising and caring for their family.  In addition to being and dedicated mother, wife and homemaker, Dawn was also a medical assistant at the New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham until her retirement.  She was absolutely loved and adored her family and was the nicest and best person in the world.  Dawn lived in Saugus for the past 31 years.

     She is survived by her husband Domenic Prestone, her children, Domenic A. and his wife, Marla, Prestone, Jr. of Uxbridge, Dana and his wife, Deanna, Prestone of Saugus, and Dawn M. Prestone of Saugus, her grandchildren, Gina M. Prestone of Uxbridge, Devon R. and Derek T. Prestone, both of Saugus, her father, Thomas D. Rivers of Malden, her siblings, Joan L. Chuha of Stoneham, Thomas D. Rivers, Jr. of Malden, John R. Rivers of Malden, Charles Rivers of Wakefield, Bruce L. Rivers of Malden, Robert J. Rivers of Malden, Vera A. Rivers of Malden, and Linda O. Burdick of Wakefield, as well as many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lilah (Ames) Rivers.

Visitation will be held at the Weir~MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden on Monday, December 5, 2005 from 4 to 9 PM. 

     Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at 11 AM. Rev. Randall Ferrara, Pastor of the First Church in Malden, Congregational will be officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
