Albert Edward Pulsifer

 

Albert Edward Pulsifer,  72, a retired accountant for Cahners Publishing Co, where he worked for  years, died Thursday, May 10, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital in Springhill, Florida.  He was born December 27, 1928 in Melrose,  the son of Albert E. and Sarah (Donnelly) Pulsifer  Jr., and attended St. Mary's Grade school growing up.  He completed his primary education at Regiopolis in Canada, before attending and attaining a degree in Accounting at Suffolk University. 

   In I950 he enlisted in the Army, and served in Germany during the Korean Conflict.  He reached the rank of SGT before completing his enlistment, and was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and the National Defense Service Medal. 

   After his discharge, he settled in the Malden Area.  He attended St. Josephs Church, and went to work for Cahners Publishing Co.  He held a variety of positions there, including Purchasing Agent & Communications Manager, before retiring as an Accountant in 1991.  He was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed gardening and bowling. 

He was a past member of the Woburn Elks, the Arlington Mens Club, and the American Legion Post 115, Stoneham.   Mr. Pulsifer lived in Malden for over 40 years.

  He is survived by his wife Jean A. (Lo Conte) , his sons  Richard J. Pulsifer of Malden, Stephen E. Pulsifer and his wife Liza of N. Hampton, and  John A. Pulsifer of Dallas TX.  He is also survived by hes brother Frederick Pulsifer of Melrose, his sister  Jean Mooney of NC, and  grandchildren Michael Pulsifer & Grace Pulsifer of N. Hampton. 

  Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 - 8 PM.  

 Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 2001 at  9:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church. Rev. John A. Daley, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
