Rocco Martone

Rocco  Martone,  78, a retired machinist, died suddenly, Saturday, October 7th ,at the  Winchester Hospital in Winchester, MA.  Rocco was born and educated in Avellino, Italy and after completing his education served with the Italian Army during WW II. In 1952 he immigrated to the United States and settled in Malden. He went to work as a machinist for the Hub Folding Box Co. of Boston and brought his family to Malden from Italy in 1954. He retired from the Hub Folding Box Co. in 1973after working there for over twenty years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church of Malden, St. Rocco's Society of Boston and the Arlington Sons of Italy.  Mr. Martone lived in Malden, MA for forty eight year and was previously from Italy.

He is survived by his wife Mary (Gesa) Martone of Malden, his daughter, Lina De Simone of Revere, his son, Pat J. Martone of Malden, his son, Nicolas T. Martone of Malden, his daughter, Angie M. Lampron of Groveland,  his sister, Catherine Pannese of Revere,  his brother, Ralph Martone of Arlington and his sister, Mary Iacoviello of Melrose.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony Martone of Malden and Manuel Martone of Wakefield.

  He was born February 22, 1922 in Avellino, Italy the son of the late Pasquale and Michelina (Guiggio) Martone.     

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Monday from 7-9 PM and on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Weds. Oct. 11th at 11:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St. Malden with the Rev. John A. Daly, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church officiating.  Entombment will be in the Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden.
