Barbara Ann Rogers

Barbara Ann (Jackson) Rogers, 66, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett, MA after a lengthly illness.  Barbara was born in Newark, NJ and came to Malden at an early age where she was educated. When she completed high school she went to work for Raytheon of Melrose as a machine operator until her marriage. She then raised her five children to whom she was devoted before reentering the work force. She was employed as a machine operator for Cambridge Brand Co. of Cambridge, a candy making company until her retirement in 2000 after working there for over twenty years. She was a long time member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Malden.  Mrs. Rogers lived in Malden, MA for 57 years.

She is survived by sons, Horace B. "Chuck Rogers, Jr. of Malden, Gregory L. Rogers of Malden, Don M. Rogers of Malden, Christopher A. Rogers of Malden, her daughter, Barbara L. Rogers of Malden, her grandchildren Mark, Don, Andre, Jelayna, Richard, Alyssa, Ashley, Jared, Jamila, Nicole, Joshua, her great grandchild Erykah Rogers and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Horace B. Rogers, Sr.

She was born November 22, 1935 in Newark, New Jersey the daughter of the late Albert and Doris (Powell) Jackson-Sneed.     

Visitation will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 20 Hillside Avenue,  Malden  on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-8 PM

Funeral services will be held Thursday evening , April 18, 2002 at  8:00 P.M. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Gadie officiating.  The procession for the internment services at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett will form at the church on Friday morning at 9:30AM and leave for the cemetery at 10: 00 AM. .
