Edith F. Rose
Edith Frances (Knox) Rose,
84, died Monday, March 15, 2004 at
Beverly Hospital in Beverly, MA, after
a short illness. Edith was born and educated in
Malden. She attended Malden schools
and was a graduate of Malden High School Class of
1938. The following year she married her husband, Richard D. Rose and
they were married over forty years, until Richards passing in 1979.
Edith resided in Malden for fifty years
and later moved to Stoneham in 1968. She lived there for thirty years,
later moving to her daughters home
in Lynnfield. In 2000 Edith became a resident
at the Herrick House in Beverly where she lived for the last three years.
Edith was a retired receptionist for Lawrence Memorial
Hospital, where she worked for twenty-five years.
She loved working, getting out and
chatting with different people. Her daughter Judy remembers her as a real people
person. She loved her garden, playing cards and shopping.
She is survived by her
daughter Judith A. Carbone and husband
Robert A. of Lynnfield, her
grandchildren Christine B. (Carbone) Teel of Wellesley
and Robert J. Carbone of
N. Reading and
great-granddaughter Jacqueline A. Carbone.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard
D. Rose, her brothers
Edward, Frederick and Robert Knox and her
sister Helen Knox.
Visitation will be held at Weir -MacCuish
Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem
St., Malden on Thursday from 4-7 PM
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 19, 2004 at
11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev.
Randell Farrara of The First Church in Malden Congregational will be
officiating. Burial will be in the
Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
