Jennie B. (Oleson) Russell, 93, died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Dexter
House Nursing Home in Malden, MA after a brief illness. Jennie was born
and educated in Berlin, N.H. and after completing high school she married her
husband, the late Eugene E. Russell and moved to Malden where she has resided
for over seventy four years. She was employed as a sales clerk for Jordan Marsh
Co. of Boston for over twenty-five years until her retirement in 1978. She was
an active member of the Centre United Methodist Church of Malden where she had
been a member for over seventy years. She was a Past National President of the
Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Auxiliary of which she was a long time
member. She was also a member of Malden Old and New and spent many hours as a
volunteer at the Malden Hospital after her retirement. She is survived by her daughter in-law, Louise
Russell, of N. Reading, her grandchildren, Linda Russell of CA,
Donald Russell of CA, David Russell of Fl,
Jill Weiner of AZ, Judy Last
of NJ, , Greg Walker of NH, and Janet Gee of NH and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene E.
Russell, her daughter Joan E. Walker,
her son David H. Russell, and her brother Harold Oleson. She was born June 19, 1911 in Berlin, New Hampshire the
daughter of the late Oscar and Annette (Hanson) Oleson. Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home , 144 Salem Street, Malden on Monday from 10-11 AM Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Weir – Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home with Rev. James Cox, Pastor of the Centre United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
