Dorothy Irene Sally
Dorothy I.
(Gulliver) Sally, 76, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the
Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden. Dorothy was born August 6,
1928 in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada and came to the United
States at the age of 19. She attended Somerville schools and
later worked for the First National Warehouse in Somerville for
twelve years. Dorothy later married her sweet heart, Thomas P.
Sally, in Somerville on May 25, 1963 and the couple settled in Malden
and raised their family in the Oak Grove section. Dorothy loved
playing bingo at Malden Catholic High as well as in Wakefield.
She was an avid crossword puzzler and enjoyed knitting.
She is
survived by her children, John A. Gulliver and his wife Bonnie
of Westford, Brenda L. Allen and her husband Harold of Pelham,
NH, Thomas P. Sally Jr. and Charles J. Sally, Sr. both of
Malden, Lisa A. Snow and her husband James of Pelham, NH.
Cherished grandmother of twelve grandchildren. Also
survived by four brothers & two sisters.
She was
preceded in death by her husband Thomas P. Sally Sr., her father
James Gulliver, her mother Leah Hounsell, her son Paul R.
Gulliver, and her grandson Frank A. Snow.
Visitation
will be held at the Weir- MacCuish Golden Funeral Home, 144
Salem St., Malden, on Sunday, March 20th from 2-4 &
7-9.
Contributions
in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the St. Jude’s Research
Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Funeral
services will be held Monday, March 21st at 10AM in
the Weir -Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem
St., Malden with Deacon Robert Amerault of Sacred Hearts
Church, Malden as the celebrant. Burial will follow in Woodlawn
Cemetery, Everett.
