Arthur Everett Schofield

Arthur Everett “ Bubba” Schofield, 79, a  elevator constructor, died Friday, July 27th at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Arthur was born in Boston and educated in Malden Schools. When WW II broke out he enlisted in the U. S. Army seeing service in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe as a Tech 4.Upon his discharge he went to work for Westinghouse Elevator Co. of Boston where he was employed as an elevator constructor for over 31 years until his retirement. He attended the Maplewood Baptist Church of Malden and was a Life Member of the East Side AA of Malden, Malden VFW Post # 639 and Local # 4 of the International Union of Elevator Constructors.  Mr. Schofield was a lifelong resident of Malden, MA.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy, R. (Clark) Schofield of Malden his daughters,  Eileen M. Johnson of Malden and Dorothy G. Ouellette of Malden. His grandchildren, Paul A. Brant of Malden, Kimberly A. Brant of Everett, Kristina D. Bramante, Craig J. & Brad E. Ouellette all of Malden, his great grandchildren; John  Paul & Andrew Brant of Everett and Kayla & Nicholas Bramante of Malden.

He was born September 16, 1921 in Boston, MA the son of the late Harry  J. and Mildred (Hyer) Schofield.  He served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of Tech 4. enlisted on June 13, 1942 at Boston, MA discharged on November 4, 1945 at Ft. Devens, MA 

Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 30th at 11:00 A.M. at the Weir MacCuish Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul C. Mc Pheeters of Forest Dale Community Church officiating.  Burial will be in the Puritan Lawn  Memorial Park in Peabody.
