Richard James Shultz  

Richard James Shultz, 71, a retired computer operator, died suddenly, Wednesday, February 21, 2001 while visiting his daughter in Malden, MA.  Richard was born in La Porte, PA and educated in Scranton, PA. When he completed school he went to work for the federal government where he was employed for thirty-five years. When he retired in 1997 he was employed with the Food & Drug Administration as a computer operator.  He was a member of the Chesapeake Bay Assoc. of the Deaf and was an avid bowler. Mr. Shultz lived in Gaithersburg, Maryland for twenty-five years and was previously from the   Wheaton and Washington, DC area.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina M. Shultz of Malden, MA, his daughter, Frances D. Speer of MD, his son, James L. Shultz of MD, his son, Frank L. Shultz of MD, his sister, Audrey St. Clair of PA, his sister, Lillian Remmington of PA, his brother,  Leonard Shultz of PA, his sister, Elizabeth Smith of PA and eight grandchildren and one great grandson..

 He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary T. (Tsoulias) Shultz.

He was born November 28, 1929 in La Porte, Pennsylvania the son of the late Leslie A. and Martha (Hoyt) Shultz.     

Contributions in Richard’s name may be made to the New England Homes for the Deaf, Inc. 154-160 Water Street, Danvers, MA 01923.

Visitation will be held at the Hines - Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Springs, MD on Monday, Feb. 26th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM

Funeral services will be held on Tues., Feb. 27th @ 11:00 AM  at the Hines – Rinaldi Funeral Home   Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Washington, DC.
